I took the day off to photograph the first latitude longitude event. They spent this morning at OHSU with Chris Klug and others hanging out with kids with cancer. I'm meeting Derek and Bryan at a wakeboarding demo they invited the kids to. It'll be a awesome photojournalistic opportunity. Plus i'm so excited to see where this thing goes and very lucky to be a part of it.

I'd really like to pour myself into the Latitude/Longitude project with my brother as well as complete work on my book. I have a ton of work ahead of me but i'm in no better place to make it all happen. I'll be posting more images form this weekend after work tonight.

This speaker system, or whatever it is, sits on the Fed Bank downtown protland and i've always wondered what it was. I see it everday on my drive down Burnside on my way home from work. Every time i see it I get this feeling i'm in some post apocalyptic film based on a George Orwell novel.... or something to that effect.

In RCFX news: shooting for the book is going well. Maybe a bit slower than i had originally thought, but i really like the idea of letting the book develop on it's own. So far i've met some really cool kids and photographed some awesome bikes.

work work work...
I started shooting for the new Rose City Fix book last week. I like that it's set in my home town so i can spend more time shooting. I'd like to have all the photography done by mid fall. I'm not in a huge rush to finish the project. Hopefully, it'll involve more fixed gear kids. So far i've met some rad people and i'm sure i'll meet many more. In typical fashion, aaron and i have already started talking about where we would like to shoot the next book: Vancouver B.C., Boston, Brooklyn?

"I drag my chains they don't drag me"

The starter in my car went out on my way to work this morning. As i pulled out of my drivway my car started smoking like crazy and smelling like lung cancer. Luckily i made it to an auto shop before it totally died. So, i ended up paying $600 to fix my car and in return i got to take the day off work and ride my bike around the city taking photos and drowning my sorrows in coffee. As i was riding around thinking about what horrible luck i've had this last year i came to the conclusion that the camel's broken back was the fault of the camel, not the straw.

This isn't to say that things are all bad. I get a proof of The Rain City Fix book in 6 days, I'm finishing my right sleeve later today, and last night i had the first bbq of the season. So, there's that.
