A few weeks ago a friend and i traveled north to catch the release party for "This Lonesome Town" the new record by Seattle's best alt-country band Westerly. I was totally blown away by how good they were. If you're a fan of bands like The Jayhawks and Tom Petty you'll love them too. Check them out here.

Yesterday afternoon Ryan and I met up with some kids in south east for a ride. A few minutes into our ride we got caught in a torrential downpour. None of us were prepared for the rain so we took cover under a bridge and shot some photos while we waited for the rain to let up.

I recently shot some promo photos for new Portland indie rock band The Reed Sea. I'm stoked on what these guys are doing. It kind of reminds me of 90's indie rock; early death cab and american football with a bit of electronics. They will be playing some shows in the Portland area soon. I'll post dates when i get some more info.

On April 4, 1968, LIFE photographer Henry Groskinsky and writer Mike Silva, on assignment in Alabama, learned that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., had been shot at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis. They raced to the scene and there, incredibly, had unfettered access to the hotel grounds, Dr. King's room, and the surrounding area. For reasons that have been lost in the intervening years, the photographs taken that night and the next day were never published. Until now.

Yesterday some friends and I hiked up Angel's Rest. The weather was amazing and good times were had. I even managed to get a bit of a sunburn. I have a ton of photos to edit from this weekend. Here are a few.

The Rain City Fix color edition is finished and is available to order. Aaron and I could not be happier with how everything turned out. You can order a copy of the book from LULU by clicking here. It will also be available soon at http://www.tokyofixedgear.com.
"Aaron Edge and Brenton Salo's interest in fixed-gear culture has driven them to create a table top photography book. This (new color edition) collection of images illustrates the simple, beautiful style of Seattle's riders and their rides."

St. Lucas
A few of my old friends who I haven’t seen in years came to Portland this weekend to hang out. It was great to catch up with everyone. I guess it's easy to forget how much you miss people you never have the chance to see. I was able to snap a couple photos of my friend Lucas who now lives in St. Louis.

A few weeks ago i scored some free passes to ride the tram that runs between Portland's southwest waterfront and OHSU. It was an beautiful sunny day and the mountain looked so amazing and small from OHSU.
